Adapted from the novel and directed by cult icon Gregg Araki, this surreal family drama follows a sexual awakening for ‘80s teenager Kat Connors after her alcoholic mother vanishes without a trace. Influenced tonally by the films of Douglas Sirk and David Lynch, the indie feature was shot in Los Angeles with an ensemble cast performing on built sets and in various redressed locations.
